Teddy Bear coats are currently one of my favoriet styles. It is cozy and versatile and I’m a sucker for versatility. However, the biggest question I pose, is this look really working for you?

I have a few fur-ish, Teddy Bear outerwear pieces but my Teddy bear coat from Topshop photographed here is something special. I literally melted for this coat. With this piece, I am able to style it in any way I see fit and it works. If I need to attend a more elegant event this is my go to… or if I am hitting a simple but chic date night with my honey, it’s also perfect!

As much as I love the Teddy Bear look, it took some time for me to figure out how to make this trend work for me and my body type. I’m, not a super slim woman and I don’t have the luxury of everything I throw on looking completely amazing on me. Also, I don’t have the biggest breast in the world but they differently get in the way with pieces like this. I say all of that to say, in the beginning, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to pull off the Teddy Bear trend but as I usually do, I made a way. That being said here are some style tips I use to make this trendy piece work for me.

Fashion Tips:

Ok, confession… I belt it of course! Adding a belt is unexpected and it insinuates my waistline so I don’t look or feel sloppy.
Wearing a fitted dress with pumps is also a nice option. The fitted dress is sexy, the pumps extend my legs, helping me to appear slimmer. Draping an oversize Teddy Bear coat tones the sexy down giving you a more elegant look.
Layers, Layers, and more Layers. This Teddy Bear coat draped over a denim jacket paired with statement sneaker is a great casual look I like to turn to when I’m busy being a mom and running errands.
